The accompanying graphic takes a closer look at the frequency of play by avidity over the past 12 years. The number of occasional golfers has inched upwards over the past decade or so, eclipsing 13 million for the first time. Meanwhile, the number of Core golfers has slightly declined, led by a dip in the most Avid golfers.
