Gauging Consumer Interest in Golf Balls

Online consumer searches for consumables such as golf balls show a strong correlation to not only purchases, but engagement and levels of play. Google searches for golf balls (the game's ultimate consumable for many) trailed last year slightly in March and April, but in early May are now trending above both 2020 and 2021. This trajectory could be a positive early indicator for rounds played, which in March lagged behind last year's pace.
