Golf has a noteworthy annual "churn," with new and returning players (inflow) offset by those who leave the game (outflow) due to failed trials, mortality and morbidity, life changes, or because they weren't hooked. 2020's record inflow of 6.2 million was 27% higher than the year before: 3M beginners and 3.2M former players who came back to the game after at least a year away.
