July Rounds Down Slightly, as Expected
When Golf Datatech recently released the July rounds played report, which NGF contributes to, we expected the numbers to be “down”, at least slightly, compared to last year. After all, play in July 2020 saw a leap of nearly 20% over 2019 due to an emerging COVID ‘surge’ in combination with extraordinary golf friendly weather in most parts of the country. But while this year’s July rounds were down 4% year-over-year nationwide, play is still trending closer to 2020 levels than prior, pre-pandemic years.
