The Marriott brand is widely associated with its line of high-end hotel chains. But Marriott also operates Marriott Golf Course Management, which is the resort golf management wing of Marriott International. The company is responsible for 1.5 million rounds each year on more than 1,000 holes of championship golf for Marriott International lodging brands, including The Ritz-Carlton, Luxury Collection, JW Marriott, Westin, Sheraton, Gaylord Hotels, Renaissance Hotels, Portea Hotels, and Marriott Golf Academy.

Marriott has managed golf operations since 1970 and is one of the world’s premier golf operators.

It also provides golf development expertise, golf management, and consulting services to a unique variety of hospitality environments, including resorts, private membership clubs, daily fee courses, golf schools, and franchises.

Marriott Golf’s stated vision is to be the world’s premier provider of quality golf experiences, delivering expertise through all facets of golf management or developing new facilities.

Among the Marriott properties in the United States are Camelback Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, Desert Springs Golf Resort and Shadow Ridge Golf Club in Palm Desert, California, and The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Grande Lakes in Orlando, Florida.

Outside the United States, Marriott runs golf properties in locations such as the Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Egypt, England, Fiji, Portugal, and Spain.

Marriott golf resorts are home to more than 125 PGA and LPGA teaching professionals who offer golf instruction, clinics, and casual pointers. Marriott Golf guests can also receive customized instruction at the Marriott Golf Academy or Golf Digest Schools.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

Hotels and golf courses have long gone hand-in-hand, and travelers playing golf on a business trip or vacation often seems almost as old as the game itself.

Marriott Golf holds a unique spot within this space, owning and operating 45 prestigious courses in more than a dozen countries. In the U.S., Marriott manages courses from Arizona to Virginia.

In addition, through its Golf Course Management business arm, Marriott is also responsible for the management of more than 1.5 million rounds of golf annually on more than 1,000 holes of championship golf.
