August 2023 National Rounds Played
August rounds of golf were level (+0.1%) with a year ago, helping the industry continue to stay ahead of last year’s pace for national play.
Through the end of the “summer months,” 2023 rounds remain about 4% ahead of the pace from 2022, which finished as one of the top four years for play on record.
Seven of the eight geographic regions were between +/- 3%, a common weather-based variance. The only outlier was the Mid-Atlantic Region, where play was up 5%. New York was the most notable contributor, up about 7% for the month.
