Textron Specialized Vehicles Inc. manufactures and sells equipment and services for the golf industry under several of its most well-known brands, including E-Z-GO golf cars, Cushman utility and hospitality vehicles, and Jacobsen turf equipment, as well as TFM technologies and solutions.

Based in Augusta, Georgia, it is a division of Textron Inc.

Textron is a multi-industry Fortune 500 company – having businesses in aerospace, defense, security, and advanced technologies – with almost $13 billion in revenue and over 32,000 employees worldwide. In addition to E-Z-GO, Jacobsen, and Cushman, Textron’s brands and product lines include Cessna and Beechcraft aircraft, Bell helicopters and Arctic Cat snowmobiles, side-by-sides, and ATVs, among many others.

Together, Textron’s three major golf and turf equipment brands (E-Z-GO, Jacobsen, and Cushman) boast more than 250 years of serving golf courses and resorts – with products ranging from golf cars, refreshment vehicles, and utility vehicles, to turf-care equipment.

Jacobsen and Cushman’s vehicles are both part of the Textron portfolio.

E-Z-GO has roots in Augusta, Georgia, in 1954 when two brothers set out to make a golf car that better met customer needs than others that were currently in the marketplace. In the time since, E-Z-GO has become one of the most recognizable names in the golf car industry and responsible for many of the innovations to improve vehicle efficiency and enhance user experience.

Cushman’s origins date back to 1901 when it was founded to build farm machinery and two-cycle boat engines. Over 100 years later, the Cushman brand is still an industry leader, responsible for many of the food and beverage vehicles on the course as well as utility vehicles for maintenance crews and multi-passenger shuttles used to ferry players and clubs around a facility.

Meanwhile, Jacobson has built a 100+ year legacy of precision craftsmanship, legendary quality, and expertise in the turf-maintenance industry, and is best known for manufacturing mowers for all aspects of the course, from tee boxes to greens.

Jacobson has been a member of the Textron family of companies since 1978 and was moved to Textron Specialized Vehicles in 2016. In late 2020, Textron announced the relocation of all manufacturing Jacobsen professional turf equipment to its facility in Ipswich, United Kingdom. The plant is the oldest manufacturer of motorized lawn mowers in the world, in operation for more than 187 years, and is now producing mowers for all regions, including North America. Jacobsen has maintained its sales, parts, and customer-care teams in North America, as well as its network of North American distributors, to serve customers in the U.S. and Canada.
