February rounds were up just over 5% year-over-year on a national level, buoyed most significantly in the Midwest and Western regions thanks in part to 29 states – from Michigan west – having above average temperatures for the month. In 2025, February rounds were down 11% YOY at U.S. courses.
While this February saw weather-related declines in the Carolinas and the Mid Atlantic region – most notably in states such as New Jersey and Pennsylvania – states such as Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Texas and Washington saw among the biggest YOY gains.
Through the first two months of 2026, nationwide play is trending 11% above last year’s pace.
It’s important to note that February isn’t just the shortest month of the year, it’s also one of the lowest-volume months for play overall as many facilities in Northern states won’t have opened for the season.
